On May 30, Quanzhou City in Fujian Province reported one suspected imported case of H1N1 influenza A. As of 16:00 on May 30, the Chinese mainland had reported a total of 21 confirmed cases and one suspected case of H1N1 influenza A. Currently, eight patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital, and the vital signs of the 14 hospitalized cases are stable. CCTV also reported that the first second-generation case of H1N1 influenza A on the Chinese mainland is currently in good condition.
The first second-generation case appears on the Chinese mainland
On May 29, the Ministry of Health announced that an imported suspected case of H1N1 influenza A reported in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province was diagnosed as a confirmed case on the same day; a close contact of this case was diagnosed as a suspected case, which was the first second-generation case on the Chinese mainland. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said in Geneva that the Chinese government had made a "very strong response" to the H1N1 influenza A epidemic.
