On the afternoon of May 10, on the eve of the first anniversary of the Wenchuan earthquake, the old Beichuan county seat - Qushan Town which had been severely damaged in the earthquake was once again reopened for public mourning activities.

Reporters of this agency also returned to Beichuan nearly a year later. On the evening of May 13 last year, several reporters arrived at Renjiaping Village where Beichuan Middle School is located for interview and coverage under drizzle and darkness.

At that time, this road from Mianyang to Beichuan became a lifeline for disaster relief, but it was blocked by huge rocks falling down due to landslides. Even though the soldiers quickly cleaned up the rocks, some sections were only wide enough for one vehicle to pass through. The reporters spent four or five hours driving from Mianyang to Beichuan that night.
