Nüwa is a female deity widely and enduringly worshipped in Chinese folk culture, and she is regarded as a creator god and a primordial god. According to legend, Nüwa can give birth to all things, and her greatest achievements are two: refining stones to mend the sky, and molding yellow clay to create humans. Before creating humans, Nüwa created chickens on the first day of the first lunar month, dogs on the second day, sheep on the third day, pigs on the fourth day, cattle on the fifth day, and horses on the sixth day.
