Wu Baoquan, the Inner Mongolian man who was arrested for posting online, has already been incarcerated for a year. In 2007 and 2008, he was twice arrested by the police of Erdos, Inner Mongolia across provinces. The first time, he was criminally detained for 10 days, and the second time, he was sentenced to one year in prison for defamation. Wu appealed, and the Intermediate People's Court of Erdos ruled for a retrial due to unclear facts. As a result, without any new evidence of crime, the sentence was increased from one year to two years.

First Posting: Detention

He posted on behalf of his friend, who was also detained for 10 days

Wu Baoquan is 39 years old and originally from Wuhai, Inner Mongolia. More than ten years ago, he met Kang Shulin from Erdos while doing clothing business. Later, Wu moved his family to Qingdao but they still kept in touch.
