Big news, Feidong actually had an earthquake! Fortunately, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake is considered a weak one and generally does not cause any casualties. The currently widely-used Richter magnitude scale internationally measures earthquakes in a logarithmic form with base 10. Specifically, it takes the logarithm of the calculated value after considering the maximum amplitude of the comprehensive seismic waves and the distance to the epicenter. Therefore, each level on the Richter scale is 10 times stronger than the previous one. From the perspective of energy, for every increase of 1 in the Richter scale, the energy is approximately 32 times that of the previous level; an increase of 2 levels means the energy is 100 times greater.
