Saying No to Sky-High Traffic Fine Overdue Penalty
Due to special reasons for delayed payment, the overdue penalty exceeds the fine amount, and in some cases it even reaches tens of thousands of yuan - such incidents will not be allowed to happen in the future. Regarding the case that the parties concerned fail to pay fines within the stipulated time limit, the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China provides that an additional fine of 3% of the fine amount shall be imposed every day. The Provision specifies that "an additional fine of 3% of the fine amount shall be imposed every day for failure to pay fines within the stipulated time limit, but the total amount of the additional fines shall not exceed the fine amount". In the future, the highest overdue penalty will be equal to the fine amount, and sky-high traffic fine overdue penalty will no longer appear.
