At the "International Tuscan White Truffle Charity Auction Dinner" recently held at the New Macau Hotel, in addition to the successful bid of 330,000 USD by Hong Kong and Macao celebrity Hung Yung Ho for the 1.5 kg white truffle king; 10 out of the other 13 white truffles at the auction were successfully bid on by parties from Macau.
According to reports by the Hong Kong Commerce, the international white truffle auction took place not only at the New Macau Hotel but also simultaneously at smaller auctions held at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, Italy, the New Macau Hotel, and Giorgio Locatelli restaurant in London. Guests attending the dinner and auction included celebrities and gentlemen from Hong Kong and Macao, consuls from various countries, internationally renowned actress Zhou Xun, representatives of charitable organizations receiving donations for the event, and media from all over the world. The three auction activities were broadcast via satellite, allowing guests present in all three locations to participate in the bidding simultaneously.
