The taxi strike in the main urban areas of Chongqing was still continuing at 4:00 am on October 4. From 6:00 to 9:30 am during the peak hours for work, I visited the main stations, bridges and roads in the urban area and found that a small part of taxis had returned to normal operation. In order to ensure the safe driving of taxis, Chongqing traffic enforcement departments and the police deployed large numbers of police forces to take to the streets on the morning of the 4th. However, most taxis still refused to go on the road, citing that their safety was still under threat. Affected by the stoppage, a great number of residents chose to take buses. Since the government appropriately increased the number of bus runs, there was no phenomenon of large numbers of passengers being stranded at the main stations in the urban areas.
