Liu Deyi (January 1945 ~ June 15, 2008), one of the top ten comedians of Bashu, a famous domestic actor, was born in January 1945 in Linjiang Temple, Ziyang. In 1957, he entered the Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theater Training Class to study art. He apprenticed under the famous丑角actor Li Wenjie and Liu Yuneng. In 1965, after graduation, he was assigned to the Second Troupe of the Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theater as a丑角actor. During his free time, he studied playwriting and created and staged many large and small Sichuan opera scripts. He starred in multiple TV series such as "Ling Tangyuan", "Foolish Commander", "Foolish Division Commander", "Foolish Army Commander", "The Legend of Tang Feichang", "Fat Brother is Adorable", "Three Joys Arrive", "Urban Spicy Sister", "Gold Rush", "Ling Tangyuan's Extravaganza", as well as films like "Life and Death Gambling Gate" and "Mahjong Porter", and the play "Recruiting Soldiers".
