Introduction to the plot of Heat: McCauley and Chris's gang robbed a truck full of bonds. New member Waingro killed a guard. McCauley tried to kill Waingro to silence him but failed, allowing him to escape. Detective Hanna, responsible for solving the case, is facing another marital crisis. However, he still spares no effort in investigating the case. Yet, McCauley's clean and efficient actions have left few clues for investigation. While the police are conducting their investigation, McCauley and his gang are also planning to sell the stolen bonds back to their original owner, Van Zant, but fall into a pre-arranged trap, only managing to escape after a fierce battle. An informant reports that Chris is one of the robbers. The police, secretly monitoring, soon discover McCauley's next target - a metal warehouse. Meanwhile, McCauley meets a female designer, Eady, who knows nothing about his criminal activities, and they fall in love at first sight. McCauley decides to rob the warehouse and then go to Australia with Eady. The police set up an ambush around the metal warehouse, but the experienced McCauley notices something unusual and hastily cancels the operation plan. Unsatisfied with giving up, the gang decides to rob a bank.
