Introduction to the plot of My Blueberry Nights: Elizabeth (played by Norah Jones) is shocked, angry, and at a loss after being dumped by her two-timing boyfriend. After ending a relationship that lasted for five years, Elizabeth finds herself eating blueberry pie every night at a café, while the café owner Jeremy (played by Jude Law) secretly admires her.
Jeremy shows immense sympathy for Elizabeth's misfortune and is too eager to offer help, almost crossing the boundaries of friendship. Ultimately, this encounter concludes with a breath-taking kiss: Elizabeth falls asleep in front of Jeremy, with remnants of his homemade cream still on her lips. Unable to resist, he leans down and gently kisses away the cream. This gesture clearly conveys his feelings and sets the stage for Elizabeth's subsequent journey, during which she sends him postcards to maintain their connection.
Next, Elizabeth arrives in Memphis, Tennessee. She works as a waitress in a restaurant during the day and at a bar at night. A police officer named Arnie (played by David Strathairn), who is an alcoholic, frequents both places and gradually becomes her friend, often venting his troubles to her. Through her interactions with Arnie, Elizabeth witnesses the gradual demise of his marriage to his wife Sue. Sue is promiscuous and openly speaks about her infidelity. Eventually, Sue also reveals her true feelings about her marriage to Elizabeth.
Then Elizabeth travels to Nevada, where she works as a waitress in a casino and meets Leslie (played by Natalie Portman). Leslie is a young girl with silver-dyed hair, unaware of the complexities of life...
