Introduction to the plot of "Divine Beggars": During the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, young peasant Yang Luchan followed the guidance of his martial arts启蒙 teacher Liu Changong and headed to the Chen family village to seek out Tai Chi master Chen Changxing in hopes of becoming his disciple. Along the way, Yang Luchan stood up for an old kite seller and got into a fight with one of Chen Changxing's disciples. As a result, he was repeatedly turned away by Chen Changxing. Enraged, Yang Luchan decided to find another master and vowed to return to the Chen family village ten years later to challenge Chen Changxing and the nine-fingered Divine Beggar.
After visiting numerous masters, Yang Luchan returned to the Chen family village. He disguised himself as a beggar by cutting his face with a knife and began cleaning the courtyard for Chen Changxing. From then on, despite enduring humiliation, Yang Luchan secretly learned the art of Tai Chi. Eventually, he used the Chen-style Tai Chi to defeat a corrupt martial artist, fulfilling his master's expectations and returning home after successfully mastering the art.
