Plot introduction: "No Man's Land," as one of the key TV dramas to celebrate Fuji TV's 50th anniversary, is set to air soon. The drama will be aired in two seasons starting from October 2009 (lasting for half a year), every Thursday evening at 10 PM. The leading role is played by Juro Nishimura. After his successful performance in Fuji TV’s 45th-anniversary drama "The White Tower," Juro takes on another work by Yoko Yamazaki after six years.

The original novel "No Man's Land" was serialized daily in SUNDAY from 1973 to 1978 and later published in book form. As of May 2009, it has sold over 4.3 million copies as one of the best-selling novels. The story is set against the backdrop of post-World War II Japan, where the country aimed for revival and entered a period of rapid economic recovery and high growth. It tells the story of a man who endured an arduous 11-year detention in Siberia after World War II. Upon returning to Japan, he joined a trading company and, amidst the ruins of post-war devastation, worked to revitalize the company. Against this tumultuous backdrop, he re-entered the business "battlefield" with the psychological conflicts of someone who experienced war, engaging in battles against the world.

The story spans approximately 30 years and is a grand production set in various locations around the world. The TV drama features extensive overseas location shooting and will be broadcast over six months, vividly recreating this great masterpiece. In addition to the lead actor Juro, there is also a star-studded cast. Filming began as early as July, well before the autumn premiere.
