The story takes place in a bio-engineering lab of a certain skyscraper, where hundreds of genetics and bio-engineering experts are conducting scientific research. Suddenly, a virus breaks out and spreads rapidly. At the same time, the supercomputer "Red Queen" loses control, sealing off the entire building. The virus quickly "kills" all the staff.

A rescue team led by Alice, Ryan, and Matt arrives at the building upon receiving orders. They must lead the special agents to quarantine the virus that has already wiped out all the personnel in the building. However, the team soon discovers that these workers are not really dead. Now, they have become greedy zombie-like undead beings who wander around the building. A person will be infected if bitten by them or scratched by them, and may even immediately turn into one of them.
