Synopsis of the finale episode of "My Dearest": The popular TV drama "My Dearest" unfolds in a small theater without air conditioning, where the smell of sweat and noise makes people feel suffocated. Despite the troupe leader Ajun's efforts to liven up the atmosphere, despite the trumpeter Li Minghui's best attempts to play his horn, and despite the graceful dancing and singing by the talented sisters Qiuyu and Qiumei on stage performing the song "My Dearest," the restless audience wants more. They are not looking for grace but for a 'cool show.' This was also a secret strategy Ajun had devised after seeing the poor ticket sales, which indeed boosted today's box office significantly. However, the audience now demands their money's worth. Despite Ajun's efforts to delay, the impatient audience begins throwing melon seeds and fruit peels onto the stage.

Ajun reluctantly pulls Qiuyu aside and tells her that she must make a sacrifice, or the troupe will face disbandment. Qiuyu finds herself in a dilemma. For the sake of the troupe, she must make this sacrifice, but it requires her to undress. Minghui feels even worse; since joining the troupe, he has been deeply attracted to Qiuyu. Now, as his beloved faces such an embarrassing choice, and he can do nothing to help, his anxiety and self-reproach turn into anger like a trapped beast.

Unexpectedly, at this moment, Qiuyu's sister Qiumei quietly changes into the light, thin silk dress prepared by Ajun for her sister and takes the stage.
