Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are high school students, but because they love to be righteous too much, they have been expelled from twenty-four schools, known as the "Twenty-Four Schools!" Just when the two feel desperate after being expelled again, a man with large earlobes suddenly appears. He introduces himself as Liu Bei, courtesy name Xuande, a fallen noble who often changes schools because he can't afford the tuition fees. Liu Bei proposes a plan, stating that he has noble bloodlines and can attend the best noble school in the country, the "Donghan Academy." However, it's too expensive, and only royal relatives or nobles can enroll. Zhang Fei, being wealthy, says he can pay the tuition for everyone. Liu Bei responds that as long as the money is settled, everything can be solved. He suggests the three of them swear brotherhood, making all of them royal relatives and thus eligible to enroll. So, the three head to a beautiful and meaningful place to swear brotherhood. As soon as they finish their oath - "We do not seek to be born on the same day, month, and year, but we wish to die on the same day, month, and year" - four people, Xiu, Wang Dadao (Wang Dong), Ding Xiaoyu, and Wang Yashe, traveling through a time portal from the Jin timeline to the Yin timeline, accidentally cause a chain reaction when Wang Dong drops a coin. The coin knocks over an empty can, which then knocks over a rock, causing a falling rock that ends up killing Liu Bei! Guan Yu, loyal to his promise, wants to follow his elder brother to death on the same day, month, and year, but Zhang Fei fails to stop him and instead knocks Guan Yu unconscious. Soon, they find out that Liu Bei isn't dead, just severely injured and unconscious. After consulting with Wang Dong, Xiaoyu, and Arthur, they decide to leave Xiu in the Yin timeline as a substitute for Liu Bei (since Xiu's counterpart in the Yin timeline is Liu Bei). Reluctantly, Xiu agrees to maintain the order of the timelines. Meanwhile, the other three take the seriously injured Liu Bei back to the Jin timeline for treatment. When Guan Yu wakes up and finds out that the fake Liu Bei, played by Xiu, is alive, he is very happy. Zhang Fei is also glad that they don’t have to die together. Thus, the three finally enter the "Donghan Academy," where Guan Yu and Zhang Fei believe they will achieve great things.
The three hope to graduate peacefully from Donghan Academy, but due to its prominence, they attract attacks from Huangjin High School and Hedong High School (where Dong Zhuo is the principal), putting Donghan Academy constantly in crisis. This action resolves the previous animosity between Zhao Yun and the others, leading Zhao Yun to now call the other four brothers and become close friends. After breaking the formation and gaining new brothers, they thought they could smoothly finish high school.
