This is a story that took place during the Warring States Period, lasting five days and four nights.

Lu Yi was a small city of Zhao State. Three years ago, just after Lord Ju Cong (Wang Xueqi) married his young and beautiful wife Li (Fan Bingbing), he led all adult men of his clan to fight in the Changping War between Qin and Zhao states. Every day, Lady Li and other women and children prayed that Zhao would defeat Qin so that their men could return home earlier...

In Changping, the Zhao army suffered a crushing defeat and Qin soldiers slaughtered captured Zhao soldiers overnight; the scene was cruel and tragic. Qin soldier Xia (Huang Jue) secretly left the battlefield driven by the desire to go home for harvest. On his escape route, Xia met young Qin soldier Ze (Du Jiayi).
