This is an elegant and Spanish-style villa apartment located in the upscale residential area of Melrose in Los Angeles. A group of young people in their early twenties with different personalities and experiences live here, forming a temporary close-knit big family. Sydney Andrews (played by Laura Leighton) is the female landlord of the apartment. Although she is in her forties, she remains as beautiful as ever. Her slightly older age and special status make Sydney hold an important position in the minds of the young tenants, especially for David Breck (played by Shaun Sipos), the handsome yet rebellious big boy.
