Film Highlights:
This movie accumulated over 8 million viewers in South Korea upon its release, ranking sixth in box office history in South Korean films, surpassing films like "The King and The Clown" and "My Sassy Girl."
The film's male lead is none other than the famous Cha Tae-Hyun. This movie marks Cha Tae-Hyun's true comeback after becoming a father. Though not conventionally handsome, Cha Tae-Hyun has carved out his own niche with cartoonish humor, deeply loved by audiences. He is the most popular "cute rascal" in Korean dramas, with a lovable baby face that exudes lively and vivid acting skills. In short, wherever he appears, he not only grabs attention but also brings plenty of humor. Talking about Cha Tae-Hyun's big screen journey, one cannot ignore "My Sassy Girl" with Jeon Ji-Hyun. This film not only started a trend of sassy girls but also propelled Cha Tae-Hyun's career to new heights, truly making him a superstar. Regarding the filming of "Scandal Makers," he expressed that he doesn't want to confine himself within the comedy genre and hopes to shoot various types of movies like "Fool" and "Scandal Makers." Additionally, he frankly stated that he tries to avoid overly absurdly funny scripts as much as possible; movies that can bring joy to families are currently what he wants to make the most. In the film, the character he plays, Hyun-Soo, goes to great lengths to prevent the scandal from being exposed, naturally leading to countless comedic situations. At a press conference, when a reporter asked Cha Tae-Hyun about the "biggest scandal" in his artistic career, he helplessly shook his head: "Unfortunately, I believe everyone knows, I almost never have romantic rumors with my co-actresses, which is somewhat of a failure." Cha Tae-Hyun laughed while explaining that perhaps because he was too "understanding," the female co-stars "all see me as an older sister."
On the other hand, the actress opposite Cha Tae-Hyun is Park Bo-Young, the successor to national younger sister Moon Geun-Young. Due to her role as So-Hwa in the TV drama "The King and I," Park Bo-Young gained fame, with her baby face and age-transcending acting skills ensuring a smooth acting career. Moreover, the five-year-old child actor Wang Seok-Hyun will play her son in the film, posing quite a challenge for Park Bo-Young, who is still a high school student. To build chemistry, Park Bo-Young became a "part-time mom" outside of the set, eating together, playing together, and even accompanying him to the bathroom. "I even felt like he was my real son; giving maternal love is hard but great," Park Bo-Young joked that the unexpected flood of maternal love became the freshest and most interesting experience in her acting career so far.
