Ah Zhi, an unlucky country girl in "Thirty Years of Wind and Rain," originally fell in love with a painter named Qi Ming but was tricked by her mother into marrying into a wealthy family. Her husband, Wen Shou, who often abuses himself due to illness, is very introverted and isolated but falls in love with Ah Zhi at first sight. After Ah Zhi marries into the family, a series of misfortunes occur in the Zhang household. The superstitious mother-in-law blames everything on Ah Zhi, believing she is a harbinger of bad luck, and gradually becomes hostile towards her.
