Azhi, an unlucky girl in "Thirty Years of Wind and Rain," is a simple village maiden who was originally in love with a painter named Qiming but was deceived by her mother into marrying into a wealthy family. Her husband, Wenshou, often abuses himself due to his illness, making him very secluded and isolated. However, he falls in love with Azhi at first sight. After Azhi marries into the family, misfortunes keep happening to the Zhang family. The superstitious mother-in-law blames everything on Azhi, thinking she is an unlucky star, and gradually develops resentment towards her.

Despite this, Azhi faces all the members of the family with kindness. Regardless of their scheming and attempts to harm her, she doesn't hold grudges. Gradually, she sees the virtues and care that Wenshou shows her, and they start to build feelings for each other. Azhi's father-in-law, Zhang Yaokun, sees the virtue of sincerity in Azhi that his own children lack, and begins to value her highly. He invites Azhi to work at the company. With the nourishment of love, Wenshou's health improves day by day. Zhang Yaokun starts to give Wenshou important responsibilities in the company.

Zhang Yaokun's eldest son, Wenfu, and his fourth daughter, Wensi, feel threatened by Wenshou and Azhi. Wenfu is openly unfriendly to them and often causes trouble that they have to clean up.
