Synopsis for "Eight Thousand Hunan Women Go to Tianshan" Episode 02: Set in Xinjiang, the story is about a determination to change the historical pattern of one-generation land reclamation, aiming for long-term stability. In response to the Party's call to build Xinjiang, a wave of enlistment swept across Hunan province, with enthusiastic young women flocking to the ancient capital of Changsha to sign up. Among them were literary youth Zhuang Chuyu, twin sisters Cailin and Caimei, maid Xiaomei, as well as Qiu Yunjie and Shen Yue from Zhounan Girls' School, representing eight thousand Hunan women who, filled with dreams of building the frontier, left their loved ones and traveled arduously to Xinjiang. Along the way, they endured countless hardships. At their first stop—Xi'an—they encountered a bus accident in which Cailin tragically lost her life. Witnessing this tragedy, coupled with homesickness, Qiu Yunjie and Shen Yue deserted, only to be brought back into service by fate. At that time, bandits still roamed parts of Xinjiang, threatening the grain supplies and safety of the troops entering Xinjiang. To ensure the safe arrival of these eight thousand Hunan women before winter, an elite military unit was dispatched for support. Meanwhile, under the leadership of Zhuang Chuyu, the women used their umbrellas as weapons, cooperating with the troops to completely annihilate the bandits, allowing the women to experience both the passion and cruelty of war.
