Ahzhi, a unlucky girl, is a simple village maiden who was in love with a painter named Qiming. However, she was deceived by her mother and ended up marrying into a wealthy family.
Her husband, Wenshou, often abuses himself due to his illness, making him very secluded and isolated. Yet, he falls in love with Ahzhi at first sight. After Ahzhi marries into the family, misfortunes keep happening to the Zhang family one after another. The superstitious mother-in-law blames everything on Ahzhi, thinking that she is a bad omen, and gradually becomes resentful towards her.
Despite this, the kind-hearted Ahzhi faces the family members calmly. No matter how they plot against her or try to harm her, she doesn't hold any grudges. Gradually, she begins to see the virtues and care from Wenshou, and their feelings for each other deepen slowly. Ahzhi's father-in-law, Zhang Yaokun, sees the virtue of sincerity in Ahzhi that his own children lack, so he starts to value Ahzhi and invites her to work at the company. With the nourishment of love, Wenshou's health improves day by day, and Zhang Yaokun begins to let Wenshou take on important roles in the company.
Zhang Yaokun's eldest son Wenfu and fourth daughter Wensi feel threatened by Wenshou and Ahzhi. Wenfu is openly unfriendly to them and often causes trouble, leaving them to clean up the mess. Wensi, who is cunning, skillfully slanders Ahzhi but often ends up shooting herself in the foot, making Zhang Yaokun value Ahzhi even more. Even after being enraged by his other two sons and suffering a stroke, Zhang Yaokun hands over the control of the company to Wenshou.
When Ahzhi gives birth to a child named Rui'an, who receives much affection from the elders, Wensi becomes even more jealous of Ahzhi. When Ahzhi discovers that her son Rui'an has autism at the age of five, her husband becomes depressed and guilt-ridden, and dies in a car accident! Ahzhi is criticized by many people. Qiming returns from abroad and learns about Ahzhi's tragic situation, often comforting her. A younger sister-in-law spreads rumors, saying that Ahzhi had an affair, which caused the second brother's death, and that she is pregnant with someone else's child. Believing the rumors, the mother-in-law wants to expel her from the house, but fortunately, the reasonable father-in-law finally believes in Ahzhi and even hands over the control of the company to her!
