Introduction to the plot of "Reunion of Unforgettable Intentions":
The 4th part of the long drama "Unforgettable Intentions" will start airing daily at 5 PM on CCTV-8 from April 6, 2009, with two episodes each day in the Youth Drama Garden. CCTV's "Reunion of Unforgettable Intentions" continues the storyline from Part 3 and consists of 168 episodes, continuing the original version of 280 episodes aired on Minsheng Television.
The first 168 episodes broadcast on CCTV mainly describe the protagonist Wang Shengtian's journey of starting from scratch and his hard work, intertwined with his emotional entanglements with three women. Director Wang Wei stated that the second season of 160 episodes focuses on the second generation of the main characters. As time passes, Wang Shengtian and his younger brother Shengzhi shift their businesses towards electronics and trade with Japanese businessmen, becoming business rivals once again. Meanwhile, Tianzhu, the son of Shengtian and Lizhu, has grown up but ends up helping outsiders to scheme against his own father. The death of Xuelian, Lin Dazhong's wife, by falling off a cliff in the first season came as a surprise to many viewers. Wang Wei explained that this was due to Han Yu, who played Xuelian, needing to shoot another drama. However, since audiences liked Han Yu and wanted her character back, after she finished shooting the other drama, a woman named Sanni who looks exactly like Xuelian appeared in "Unforgettable Intentions." Wang Shengtian still harbors feelings for Xuelian, and Sanni's appearance causes ripples in Shengtian's heart. In summary, the second season not only features conspiracies and calculations in the business world but also explores brotherly affection, father-son relationships, and mother-in-law-daughter-in-law relations, making it more exciting than the first season.
Director Wang Guohui of CCTV's Film and Television Department mentioned that prior to "Unforgettable Intentions," CCTV had never introduced such a long television series. Initially, there wasn't much confidence regarding its ratings, especially not expecting a drama that starts at 5 PM to achieve a peak rating of 2.23%, higher than some prime-time dramas. Furthermore, the audience's demand for the continuation of the series was very high, with numerous phone calls received daily by the General Editor's Office and the Film and Television Department. After fully considering the audience's opinions, following the end of the first season, another 160 episodes were quickly introduced. Thus, "Unforgettable Intentions" has already aired 328 episodes, and the remaining episodes are highly likely to continue based on the viewing ratings. Viewers will be able to watch the complete "Unforgettable Intentions," setting a new record for CCTV as the 526-episode "Unforgettable Intentions" surpasses the Korean drama "Mermaid Lady" to become the longest series. Additionally, "Unforgettable Intentions" enriches CCTV's variety of dramas during the Spring Festival holiday. On February 9, "Countryside Love 2," starring Zhao Benshan and Fan Wei, aired on "One Yellow," which is a rural comedy featuring China's most popular comedians, perfectly suited for the festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, "Eight Yellow" aired "Flower of Women," starring Qin Hailu and Liu Tao, a period drama. "Unforgettable Intentions," with its dramatic twists and turns in character fates, complements "Countryside Love 2" well, providing different options for viewers.
