Plot Summary of Terminator 2018: The year 2018. Five years after "Judgment Day," modern human civilization has been destroyed by the nuclear war initiated by the supercomputer Skynet. Earth has lost its vitality, and coldness, darkness, and despair now rule this blue planet. Most humans have perished in the nuclear strikes, while the few survivors hide in deserts, bunkers, and the ruins of cities, living in constant fear. They don't know if they'll have enough luck to evade the robot hunting squads sent by Skynet. Only a small group of survivors believes that to survive, they must take up arms and resist the robotic Terminators controlled by Skynet.

Even before Skynet was created, John Connor (played by Christian Bale) knew—unfortunately, he was the only one in the world who did—that "Judgment Day" would come. He was born entangled with Skynet (you certainly won't forget John Connor's bizarre origins, especially the young John portrayed by Edward Furlong in the second movie). It seems that John, who is always complaining about his fate, isn't cut out to be the leader of the resistance, but the responsibility to save the remaining humans falls squarely on his shoulders. Especially when Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) appears, John realizes that humanity might have a chance to win the battle against the robots, even though the odds are extremely slim. Marcus Wright is actually a robot from an earlier era, but his memory does not include any orders to obey Skynet. He is an anomaly among robots because he feels closer to humans. Considering that he shares the same steel frame as other robots, John is conflicted about whether or not to trust him. But he doesn't have time to think about it, as Skynet launches a new offensive that could wipe out all the survivors. John and Marcus must strike first and directly infiltrate the core of Skynet to eliminate it once and for all.
