Plot of "Manhunt": In the 1930s Shanghai was plagued with crime. Detective Zhong Lang from the police station was once hailed as the "Crime Nemesis". However, three years ago, while investigating a series of murders, he arrested the wrong person allowing the real killer, the "Throat Cutter", to escape and leave many innocents dead. This left Zhong Lang deeply affected. Three years later, another "throat cutting murder" occurs where Mr. Xu from the Fook Kee Rice Shop is killed. Zhong Lang decides to regain his determination and capture the "Throat Cutter". During the process, the clever junior detective Han Fei begins assisting Zhong Lang in the investigation.
