District 9 Plot Introduction:
In 1990, a huge spaceship appeared in the Earth's sky, causing panic among people, yet they were also extremely curious. After a period of tense waiting, the alien spaceship remained silent. Humans finally approached it cautiously, forcing their way into the cabin and discovering countless aliens. They were described as ugly, resembling shrimps, and were in extremely poor health, weak and powerless. It turned out that these were extraterrestrial refugees who were eventually accepted by Earthlings and isolated in an area within Johannesburg, South Africa, known as "District 9." After two decades of reproduction, the number of alien refugees had expanded to 1.8 million, and conflicts with surrounding humans continued to escalate. More and more humans called for the "Prawns" to be expelled from Earth.
MNU (Multinational United) after deliberation, decided to relocate the alien refugees to a more remote area. Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), an agent from MNU's Alien Affairs Department, was specifically responsible for the relocation work. During the mobilization process, Wikus acted arrogantly and casually, leading to frequent conflicts with local residents. Ultimately, he paid the price for his actions; he was infected by the aliens' mysterious fluid, gradually transforming into an alien-like appearance...
