Following the storyline from the previous series, DIE under Lang's leadership repeatedly solved strange cases and eventually achieved "honorable dissolution." Apart from Ching taking a temporary maternity leave and Fee Sir retiring back to his hometown of Scotland, the rest of the team returned to their previous workplaces. However, their quirky personalities and styles remained unchanged, continuing to cause headaches for their superiors and facing exclusion at work!

During a large official event, the former members of DIE gathered on-site for different reasons to carry out tasks. Coincidentally, Ching, who was nearby with her baby, mistakenly entered a restricted area while habitually trying to apprehend her "nemesis" Big Mouth Ying, who was engaged in illegal activities. This caused a chain reaction, leading to chaos and embarrassment for the police chief... The blame fell on the chief, prompting an emergency meeting among the police hierarchy. Lang's immediate superior, Lo Youheng, proposed reassembling DIE to gather these troublesome employees who couldn't be fired, letting them fend for themselves. Since the original supervisor, Fee Sir, had retired, Heng was forced to take on the responsibility of leading DIE.

Upon hearing about the reformation of DIE, Ching became eager to end her maternity leave and return to work. However, Lang, influenced by his patriarchal mindset, tricked Ching into agreeing to take a full year off to focus on being a full-time mother and taking care of the baby. When Lang's tricks were uncovered by Ching, she decided to apply for reinstatement independently. Upon returning to the Serious Crime Unit, Ching partnered with a new high-flyer whose personality and style clashed with hers like Mars colliding with Earth. Moreover, since Ching had previously offended the chief, her superior feared she would drag down the Serious Crime Unit and used this as an excuse to transfer her back to DIE.

Back at DIE, Ching entrusted her baby to her relatives for care. However, differing opinions between Ching's mother and grandmother led to constant quarrels day and night. To prevent a family rift, Ching's father ordered her to take care of the baby herself. Thus, Ching brought her baby to work, where the DIE team took turns caring for it, resulting in endless humor...

Heng, eager to get rid of the difficulties quickly, overworked the team and intentionally tried to split DIE, forcing Lang and Ching to lead separate teams in solving cases. Initially, both did their best, but Lang, relying on his supernatural intuition, solved case after case, leaving his group far ahead in performance... Meanwhile, Ching inadvertently discovered that her baby seemed to have inherited Lang's abilities, possessing incredible powers that could often predict answers to things, helping her make correct choices and avoid danger multiple times. Doubtful yet unwilling to tell Lang just yet, Ching secretly used her baby's abilities to assist in investigations, impressing everyone around her. However, when Lang eventually found out, he was extremely dissatisfied, fearing it might negatively impact the baby's growth. He strongly opposed Ching's abuse of the baby's abilities, further straining their relationship. At this time, Lang met his first love, Wen Chuchu, and worked hard to help clear her of murder charges, making Ching jealous and leading to a cold war between the couple...

Unexpectedly, "Xiaoyi" reappeared, but this "Xiaoyi" wasn't the real Xiaoyi... Perhaps due to thinking about her all day, Lang dreamt of meeting Xiaoyi, who gave him a shocking warning: the life-and-death fate between Lang and Ching was still unresolved. Although it was temporarily avoided when Ching gave birth to their baby, as the baby grew older, misfortune would return, and Ching would face mortal danger again. Just as Lang was half-believing this, the major villain from the previous series, Zhen Xiangrong, reappeared before Lang and Ching... It turned out that this person was actually Zhen Xiangrong's twin brother, Zhen Xianghua, who had been secretly hospitalized in a foreign psychiatric hospital due to mental issues. He had returned to carry out his revenge plan...

As for Qing, seeing Lang and Ching married and having offspring, she felt it was time to pursue her own ideals and went abroad for further studies. Yi initially didn't think much of it, waiting patiently for Qing to return after completing her studies and start a family together. However, neither realized that their feelings were in crisis... Since Qing left Hong Kong, the business of "Yixianqian" relied solely on Mei and Pei to keep it running. When Pei encountered difficulties at work, she sought help from Yi. Yi, considering himself a co-owner of "Yixianqian," helped repeatedly, allowing Pei to see his kindness, positivity, and optimism. She greatly appreciated Yi, and they became good friends. Over time, Qing living abroad began to feel a change in her life goals and secretly revealed her thoughts to Lang and Ching, hoping they would convince Yi not to wait for her anymore... Unintentionally discovering this, Pei thought Yi deserved better and couldn't bear to see him continue planning for an impossible wedding. Therefore, she taught Yi various romantic methods to express his feelings to Qing abroad, hoping to save their precious relationship...
