Introduction to the plot of "Trickster B":
Picking up from where the last series left off, under the leadership of To, DIE continues to solve bizarre cases. They are finally "honorably discharged". Apart from Crystal taking a temporary maternity leave and Sir Fee retiring back to his hometown in Scotland, the rest of the team returns to their previous work positions. However, their quirky personalities and styles remain unchanged, continuing to give headaches to their superiors and facing exclusion at work.
During a large official event, the former members of DIE gather on site for various reasons to carry out tasks. Crystal, who happens to be passing by with her baby, instinctively captures her old nemesis Big Mouth Ying who is committing illegal acts. This leads to her accidentally entering a restricted area, causing a chain reaction that leaves everyone in disarray and embarrasses the top cop. As a result, the police high command calls an emergency meeting. To's immediate superior, Law Yau Hang, seeing this as an opportunity to get rid of his troublesome subordinates, proposes the reformation of DIE. These troublemakers, who cannot be fired, are gathered together again, left to fend for themselves. However, since the original head of DIE, Sir Fee, has retired, Hang is forced to take on the responsibility of leading DIE.
Upon hearing about the reformation of DIE, Crystal becomes very eager and requests to end her maternity leave early and return to work. However, To, with his chauvinistic mindset, tricks Crystal into agreeing to take a year-long break and become a full-time mom to take care of the baby. Later, when Crystal discovers To's scheme, she refuses to be manipulated and decides to apply for reinstatement herself. Returning to the Major Case Unit, Crystal partners with a new high-flyer whose personality and style clash with hers like Mars colliding with Earth. Moreover, because Crystal had previously offended the top cop, her superior fears that she will drag down the Major Case Unit. Thus, she is reassigned back to DIE under the pretext of needing more experience. Back at DIE, Crystal entrusts her baby to her relatives for care. However, differing opinions between Crystal's mother and grandmother regarding childcare lead to constant quarrels. To prevent a family feud, Crystal's father orders her to take care of the baby herself. Consequently, Crystal brings her baby to work, where the DIE team takes turns looking after it, resulting in countless comedic situations.
In order to quickly get rid of the trouble, Hang constantly overworks the team and deliberately splits DIE, forcing To and Crystal to lead separate teams in a competition to solve cases. Initially, To and Crystal just do their respective duties, but To, with his supernatural intuition, solves case after case, leaving the other team far behind... Meanwhile, Crystal unexpectedly discovers that her baby seems to have inherited some of To's abilities, possessing an incredible power to foresee answers to certain questions, helping Crystal make correct decisions and repeatedly escape danger. Doubtful yet hesitant to inform To, Crystal secretly uses her baby's abilities to assist in investigations, impressing everyone. Eventually, To finds out and is extremely dissatisfied, fearing that this might negatively affect the baby's growth. He strongly opposes Crystal's abuse of the baby's abilities, straining their relationship even further. At this time, To encounters his first love, Man Chuchu. His efforts to help clear her name in a murder case cause Crystal to feel jealous, plunging the couple into a cold war... Unexpectedly, Siu Yi reappears, but it turns out that this Siu Yi is not the real one... In his dreams, To meets Siu Yi, who warns him that the life-and-death fate between him and Crystal remains unresolved. Although the birth of their baby temporarily averted disaster, as the baby grows older, misfortune will return, and Crystal will once again face mortal danger. Just as To is half-believing this, the major villain from the last series, Zan Hoi Wing, reappears before To and Crystal... It turns out that this person is actually Zan Hoi Wing's twin brother, Zan Hoi Wa, who has been secretly hospitalized in a foreign psychiatric hospital due to mental issues. He has now returned to carry out his revenge plan...
As for Cheung, seeing To and Crystal get married and start a family, she feels it's time to pursue her own ideals and goes abroad for further studies. Yee initially doesn't take it seriously, waiting patiently for Cheung to finish her studies and marry him. However, he doesn't realize that their feelings for each other are in crisis... Since Cheung left Hong Kong, the business at One Line Connection has relied solely on Mei and Pei. When Pei encounters difficulties at work, she seeks help from Yee. Yee, feeling responsible as a co-owner, repeatedly helps despite personal sacrifices. Through this, Pei comes to appreciate Yee's kindness, positivity, and optimism, becoming good friends. As time passes, Cheung living abroad feels a change in her life goals. She secretly reveals her thoughts to To and Crystal, hoping they can persuade Yee to stop waiting for her... This information is accidentally discovered by Pei, who feels sorry for Yee and can't bear to see him continue planning an impossible wedding. Therefore, she teaches Yee various romantic methods to express his feelings to Cheung abroad, hoping to save their precious relationship...
