Introduction to Queen Seondeok:

"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Dae-Man (played by Lee Yo-Won), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless efforts and power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla, Queen Seondeok. Under the circumstances where Mi-Shil (played by Ko Hyun-Jung) holds the power in the palace, King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya give birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, having twins is considered highly inauspicious, signifying "the end of the royal lineage." Reluctantly, King Jinpyeong sends away the younger daughter, Princess Dae-Man. But Mi-Shil dispatches her men to secretly hunt her down. At a critical moment, Princess Dae-Man is saved by the legendary Hwarang leader Moon-Nu, who devises a plan and entrusts her to King Jinpyeong's maid Cho-Hwa for raising. Cho-Hwa takes Princess Dae-Man to the deserts of China, raising her in a small inn. Princess Dae-Man's greatest rival, Mi-Shil, uses her exceptional beauty to gain favor with King Jinheung and seize control of the palace. Ambitious Mi-Shil, after King Jinheung's death, installs the young King Jinpyeong on the throne. When King Jinpyeong's wife gives birth to twin daughters, Mi-Shil plans to use their lives to threaten him and directly seize royal power. However, Moon-Nu and Cho-Hwa rescue Princess Dae-Man, thwarting her plan. Despite this, Mi-Shil does not abandon her quest for the throne, plotting to have her husband ascend it. She views Princess Dae-Man's twin sister, Princess Cheon-Myeong (played by Park Yi Jin), as a thorn in her side. Under Mi-Shil's rule, Princess Cheon-Myeong, with her extraordinary wisdom and sharp judgment, conceals her true nature but always reveals her leadership qualities at crucial moments. Although Princess Cheon-Myeong marries Kim Yongsu (played by Park Jung-Cheol) and has a son, Kim Chunchu (played by Yoo Seung-Ho), she develops feelings for Kim Yu-Shin (played by Um Tae-Woong), who once saved her life. The renowned Silla general Kim Yu-Shin, known for his exceptional martial arts skills, accidentally saves Princess Cheon-Myeong from an assassination attempt by Mi-Shil's loyalists. Arranged by Princess Cheon-Myeong, he meets Princess Dae-Man. While helping Princess Dae-Man achieve her grand dream of unifying the three kingdoms, Kim Yu-Shin develops feelings for her and becomes her loyal supporter. With Kim Yu-Shin's help, Princess Dae-Man gradually dismantles Mi-Shil's power base and ascends to the throne as the first queen of Silla.
