Queen Seondeok Plot Introduction:

"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Dae-man (played by Li Yaoyuan), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless effort and navigating palace power struggles, she grows to become the first queen of Silla - Queen Seondeok.

Under the control of Mi-seuk (played by Ko Hyun-jing) in the harem, King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya gave birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, giving birth to twins is considered highly inauspicious, with the omen of "the end of male holy bones." Out of necessity, King Jinpyeong sent someone to abandon the younger daughter, Dae-man, but Mi-seuk dispatched her own people to secretly assassinate her. At a critical moment, Dae-man was saved by the legendary Hwarang figure, Venu, who devised a plan to rescue her and entrusted her to King Jinpyeong's maid, Cho-hwa, to raise. Cho-hwa took Dae-man to the desert regions of China and raised her in a small inn. Princess Dae-man's greatest enemy, Mi-seuk, wielded her extraordinary beauty to gain the favor of King Jinheung and seize power in the palace. Ambitious, after King Jinheung's death, she installed the young King Jinpyeong on the throne. After the birth of King Jinpyeong's twin daughters, Mi-seuk planned to use their lives to threaten him and directly seize royal power. Unexpectedly, Ven-u and Cho-hwa saved Dae-man, disrupting her plans. Despite holding great power, Mi-seuk did not give up her pursuit of the throne and plotted to have her husband ascend it. She viewed Dae-man's twin sister, Princess Tae-myeong (played by Park Yi-jin), as a thorn in her side. Under Mi-seuk's rule, Princess Tae-myeong, with her extraordinary wisdom and quick judgment, concealed her true nature but always displayed her leadership qualities at crucial moments. Although Princess Tae-myeong married Kim Ronsu (played by Park Jung-chul) and had a son, Kim Choon-chu (played by Yoo Seung-ho), she developed feelings for Kim Yusin (played by Om Tae-woo), who once saved her life. The renowned Silla general Kim Yusin possessed exceptional martial arts skills. By chance, he saved Princess Tae-myeong from an assassination attempt by Mi-seuk's confidants and met Princess Dae-man through Tae-myeong's arrangements. While helping Princess Dae-man realize her grand dream of unifying the three kingdoms, he developed feelings for her and became her loyal supporter. With Kim Yusin's help, Princess Dae-man eventually dismantled Mi-seuk's influence step by step and ascended to the throne as the first queen of Silla.
