Introduction to the plot of "Yi Nian Wang":
The 4th part of the long drama "Yi Nian Wang" will start airing two episodes daily at 5 PM on CCTV-8's Youth Drama Garden from April 6, 2009. CCTV's "Yi Nian Wang" continues the storyline from Part 3, with a total of 168 episodes, continuing from the original version of PTS, which had 280 episodes.
The first 168 episodes broadcast on CCTV mainly describe the story of the protagonist Wang Shengtian striving to build his business from scratch, interwoven with his emotional entanglements with three women. Director Wang Wei stated that the focus in the second season's 160 episodes shifts to the second generation of the main characters. As time passes, Wang Shengtian and his younger brother Shengzhi both turn their businesses towards electronics and trade with the Japanese, making them once again commercial rivals. Meanwhile, Tianzhu, the son of Shengtian and Lizhu, has grown up but ends up helping outsiders scheme against his own father. Xuelian, Lin Dazhong's wife, fell off a cliff and died in the first season, surprising many viewers. Wang Wei explained that this was because Han Yu, who played Xuelian, had to shoot another drama, so they designed this scene. However, due to audience demand for her character's return, after she finished shooting the other drama, a woman named Shanni who looks exactly like Xuelian appears in "Yi Nian Wang." Wang Shengtian still harbors feelings for Xuelian, and Shanni's appearance causes ripples in Shengtian's heart. In summary, the second season not only features scheming and intrigue in the business world but also explores brotherly bonds, father-son relationships, and mother-in-law/daughter-in-law dynamics, making it even more captivating than the first season.
Director Wang Guohui of CCTV's Film and Television Department mentioned that prior to "Yi Nian Wang," CCTV had never introduced such a long-running TV series. Initially, there wasn't much confidence in its ratings, especially not expecting a show starting at 5 PM to achieve a peak rating of 2.23%, higher than some prime-time dramas. Moreover, the audience's demand for continued introduction was very high, with numerous calls received daily by the General Office and the Film and Television Department. After thoroughly considering the audience's opinions, they quickly introduced another 160 episodes after the first season ended. Thus, "Yi Nian Wang" has already aired 328 episodes, and depending on the ratings, it is highly likely that the remaining episodes will continue to be broadcast. Viewers can look forward to watching the complete "Yi Nian Wang," and CCTV will set a new record as the 526-episode "Yi Nian Wang" surpasses the Korean drama "Mermaid Lady" as the longest series. Furthermore, "Yi Nian Wang" enriches CCTV's selection of dramas during the Spring Festival. The rural comedy "Countryside Love 2," starring Zhao Benshan and Fan Wei, began airing on February 9 on CCTV's prime-time slot, featuring China's most popular comedians, making it a fitting main course for the festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, "Women Flowers," starring Qin Hailu and Liu Tao, an ancient costume drama, airs on CCTV's evening slot, while "Yi Nian Wang," with its gripping and tumultuous character fates, pairs well with "Countryside Love 2," offering audiences different choices.
