Queen Seondeok Full Series Plot Introduction:
"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Doman (played by Li Yaoyuan), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through relentless effort and power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla - Queen Seondeok.
Under the control of Consort Misil (played by Go Hyun-jung) in the harem, King Jinpyeong and Lady Maya gave birth to twin daughters. However, for the king, giving birth to twins is considered extremely unlucky, signifying "the end of the royal male line." Out of necessity, King Jinpyeong sends away the younger daughter, Doman, but Misil sends her people to secretly pursue and kill her. At a critical moment, Doman is saved by the legendary Hwarang figure, Venu, who devises a plan and entrusts Doman to be raised by King Jinpyeong's maid, Soho. Soho takes Doman to the desert regions of China and raises her in a small inn. Doman's greatest enemy, Misil, uses her exceptional beauty to gain the favor of King Jinsaeng and seize power in the palace. Ambitious, after King Jinsaeng's death, Misil installs the young King Jinpyeong on the throne. When King Jinpyeong’s wife gives birth to twin daughters, Misil plans to use their lives to threaten him and directly seize the royal power. Unexpectedly, Ven and Soho save Doman, thwarting her plans. Despite this setback, Misil doesn't abandon her ambition for the throne and plots to have her husband ascend it. Thus, she views Doman's twin sister, Princess Tae-Myeong (played by Park Yijin), as a thorn in her side. Under Misil's rule, Princess Tae-Myeong, with her extraordinary intelligence and quick judgment, remains cautious but consistently demonstrates her leadership qualities at crucial moments. Although married to Kim Yongshu (played by Park Jungcheol) and having a son, Kim Chunchu (played by Yu Seung-ho), Princess Tae-Myeong develops feelings for Kim Yusin (played by Yan Taixiong), who once saved her life. The renowned Silla general Kim Yusin, skilled in martial arts, accidentally saves Princess Tae-Myeong from an assassination attempt by Misil's confidants. Arranged by Princess Tae-Myeong, Kim Yusin meets Doman. While helping Princess Doman achieve her grand dream of unifying the three kingdoms, he develops feelings for her and becomes her loyal supporter. With Kim Yusin's help, Princess Doman gradually dismantles Misil's influence and ascends to the throne as the first queen of Silla.
