Fang Luan (played by Huang Zongze), who was born with great fortune and a lucky life, was once predicted not to live past the age of thirty. However, after surviving numerous major calamities in his childhood, his personality became thrill-seeking and playful. After graduating from pre-college, he couldn't hold down any job for long. Once, while accompanying a friend to graffiti at a dog track in the New Territories, Luan saw another group of youths attempting to set fire as revenge against the dog track owner who had previously let dogs attack people. Unable to dissuade them in time, Luan fled the scene hurriedly and encountered an accident, falling into a fast-flowing water pit with his car. At that moment, Fire Captain Zhong Youcheng (played by Wang Xi) passed by and managed to rescue both of them. After this incident, Luan not only regarded Youcheng as his savior but also admired his courage and skills immensely. Just when Luan thought he had found his life goal, he was arrested by the police, accused of being involved in the arson case at the dog track. Suffering from an undeserved injustice, Luan decided to find the real arsonist to clear his name. Eventually, after twists and turns, Luan located the youth responsible for the arson at an old shopping mall's karaoke lounge. At that time, due to the storage of excessive illegal hazardous materials in the mall's restaurant, a big fire broke out, trapping both of them inside. Upon receiving the report, Youcheng arrived on the scene and rescued Luan and the youth at a critical moment. After this event, Luan was even more convinced that Youcheng was a great hero and desired to become someone like Youcheng who could save lives. Thus, Luan resolved to take the firefighter entrance exam. Unfortunately, misfortunes never come singly; when Luan thought saving the youth would lead him to confess about the arson case, the youth turned around and accused Luan of being the real culprit instead. Feeling utterly disheartened, Luan planned to give up on taking the firefighter exam until he met Youcheng again, who encouraged Luan with his own experiences...
