Synopsis of the 2009 new film [Machine侠]:
The year 2046. High technology is continuously changing human habits and updating human desires. Consequently, robots designed to serve humans come into existence.
The first generation of artificial intelligence robots, code-named K-1, was secretly developed by the Tianan Scientific Research Bureau for the purpose of replacing police in executing dangerous missions, thereby ensuring the safety of law enforcement personnel. To test its capabilities, Director Lin Xiang decides to send it to a remote town for training, under the secret supervision of the local police captain, Xu Dachun.
K-1 joins the police force under the identity of "Deming" and immediately shows extraordinary abilities, becoming a master detective. Due to his perfect social program, Deming quickly becomes a popular idol in the town, and policewoman Su Mei also develops feelings for him, much to the dismay of Dachun who has secretly loved Su Mei all along. Dachun looks down on Deming as just a machine, leading to open and covert conflicts between the two, resulting in countless jokes.
Deming and Dachun are ordered to pursue the robot K-88 whose intelligent system has malfunctioned. After an epic high-tech battle involving machines transforming in seventy-two ways, K-88 reveals that the reason for his escape is "to seek freedom, not wanting to be a machine forever," criticizing Deming as an "electronic slave." Dachun is deeply moved. In order to protect Deming and uphold human dignity, Dachun fearlessly throws himself at K-88...
Su Mei confesses her love to Deming but receives no positive response, leaving her heartbroken, unaware that her love is pushing Deming towards a difficult dilemma. Meanwhile, the robotic assassins tasked with eliminating traitors are gradually heading towards the town, creating an atmosphere of lurking danger...
