Plot Introduction:

"Queen Seondeok" tells the story of Princess Doman (played by Lee Yo Won), who was abandoned as a child due to an ominous prophecy. Through her relentless efforts and navigating the power struggles within the palace, she grows up to become the first queen of Silla - Queen Seondeok. Under the control of the beautiful Mi-shil (played by Ko Hyun Jung), Queen Consort of King Jinpyeong, twin daughters were born to Queen Maya. However, for the king, the birth of twins was considered extremely unlucky, signifying the "end of male holy bones." Helplessly, King Jinpyeong ordered someone to send away the second daughter, Princess Doman. Yet, Mi-shil sent her people to secretly hunt her down. At a critical moment, Princess Doman was saved by the legendary Hwarang figure, Ven Nu, who then handed her over to King Jinpyeong's maid, Cho Hwa, to raise. Cho Hwa took Princess Doman to the desert regions of China, raising her in a small inn. Princess Doman’s greatest rival, Mi-shil, used her striking beauty to gain the favor of King Jinheung, thus gaining control over the palace. Ambitious, after King Jinheung's death, she installed the young King Jinpyeong on the throne. When Queen Maya gave birth to twin daughters, Mi-shil planned to use the lives of these twin princesses to threaten King Jinpyeong and directly seize royal power. Unexpectedly, Ven Nu and Cho Hwa managed to save Princess Doman, thwarting her plans. Despite wielding significant power, Mi-shil did not give up her pursuit of the throne. She conspired to make her husband the king and viewed Princess Doman’s twin sister, Princess Cheonmyeong (played by Park Yi Jin), as a thorn in her side.
