Yang Gil-re and her children, daughter Silver-shil and son Silver-chul, return to the town of Hwasan where they used to live after Gil-re's husband suddenly passes away and she is driven out of her home by her husband's first wife. At a local photography studio in her hometown, Gil-re receives a warm welcome from the owner, Yong-tae. Seeing that she and her children have no one else to rely on, he allows them to temporarily stay at his house.
