At the fourth meeting of the fourth session of Hubei Yicheng County People's Congress which ended yesterday, after voting election by 221 representatives, 29-year-old Zhou Senfeng was elected as mayor with all the votes.
Zhou Senfeng is a Han national from Yuzhou city in Henan province, who was born in July 1980. After he graduated from Tsinghua University postgraduate in 2004, he began to work in Xiangfan (he is one of the high-quality talents introduced by Xiangfan from Tsinghua University). He served as the vice director of Xiangfan Construction Committee and then became the second secretary of the Party Leadership Group and vice director of the Planning Bureau. In 2008, he went to Yicheng for taking up a post and served as standing committee member of the Yicheng County Party Committee and standing vice mayor. On June 1st 2009, he was appointed as acting mayor of Yicheng at the 21st meeting of the fourth session of the Standing Committee of Yicheng County People's Congress. It is reported that Zhou Senfeng might be the youngest county mayor across the country at present.
