The main storyline of "Smile in My Heart" Episode 4 is about a new romantic tale that unfolds in a five-star hotel. In the episode, Ming Dao plays the role of Liang Yufang, the second-generation heir to a five-star hotel. Dissatisfied with his family's arrangements, he starts working from the bottom of the hotel hierarchy. By chance, he meets Xiang Tianwei, a hardworking young woman from a humble background who also works at the hotel. Together, they compose a romantic and twist-filled love story akin to that of a prince and Cinderella.
In this episode, when Yufang decides not to attend the hotel’s tenth anniversary gala, his father, the hotel chairman Liang Ze, and his sister, the hotel manager Liang Yuqing, are eagerly anticipating introducing him at the event. With the help of his friend Tai, Yufang attempts to escape from the hotel.
