The story takes place in a fictional suburban neighborhood called Wisteria Lane in the United States, where the residents are affluent and happy, living peacefully and harmoniously. However, all of this is shattered by a gunshot: Mary Alice Young (played by Brenda Strong), the most beautiful and charming housewife in the community, suddenly commits suicide in her perfect home. But this is not the end of Mary Alice's story; death gives her the opportunity to observe life from a new perspective. Are Mary Alice's friends and their families as peaceful and perfect as they seem on the surface? Are there underlying currents of despair and madness lurking beneath, just like in her own former life?
