In the 80s, pool genius You Yiqiao (played by Cheng Shaokiu) decided to retire from the sport after an incident where he gambled with his girlfriend as a bet. He then put away his cue and left the game. It wasn't until Yiqiao met Jin Ziqian (played by Deng Jianhong), a young man with great talent for pool who repeatedly sought him out, that he discovered Ziqian was the son of his former lover. Deciding to break his self-imposed retirement, Yiqiao takes Ziqian under his wing, teaching him the skills of the game in hopes that through pool, Ziqian would understand the principles of life. However, You Jiaqin (played by Zhou Liqi), Yiqiao’s daughter, feels upset about her father's favoritism. Consequently, Yiqiao decides to teach her as well. Through mutual encouragement, Ziqian and Jiaqin eventually develop feelings for each other...
