"Seven Pounds" Plot Introduction:
Ben Thomas (played by Will Smith) is a tax auditor for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Haunted by the death of his wife and the wrongs he committed against his younger brother in the past, he is unable to shake off an overwhelming sense of guilt, and has even attempted suicide multiple times. In the end, however, Thomas overcomes his despair. He decides to atone for his sins in a different way—by helping seven strangers. His actions end up transforming the lives of these seven individuals.
