"Plum in a Golden Vase" (2008)
Starring: Lin Weijian, Wakana Hikari, Asakawa Serina
The director is Qian Wenqi, who has directed films such as "The Ten Evil Arts of Nanyang", "Peaches Ripen in 1997", and "Savage New Humans". With these works under his belt, this film should be decent. However, the lead actor Lin Weijian is somewhat lacking. Although this guy starred in "The Ten Punishments of Qing Dynasty 2: Naked Lingchi" and "Female Scholar Chatting Studio" ten years ago, and despite being close to fifty, he still looks well-preserved, but he is too thin and lacks charisma. He pales in comparison to Wang Shuqi, who started as a child actor. In fact, Lin Weijian entered the industry earlier than Louis Koo, having appeared as an extra in Adam Cheng's "The Bund". He was also a student in the same TVB acting training class as Miao Qiaowei and Aaron Kwok.
The Hong Kong movie poster for "Plum in a Golden Vase" boldly claims "Extreme Indulgence" and touts it as "Hong Kong's most explosive erotic film in twenty years."
In Qian Wenqi's version of "Plum in a Golden Vase," there are several Japanese AV stars participating. Wakana Hikari plays Wu Yuenniang, Shangyuan Kaera plays the seductress, Asakawa Serina plays Pan Jinlian, and Hong Kong adult star Leung Man-yee also appears, though not in the first part. She might play Li Ping'er or Chunmei in the second part.
