Huashang Network evolved from the electronic version of Huashang Daily and went online in 1997.

On February 18, 2003, Huashang Network was officially launched, dedicated to becoming a leading regional portal online. Over the years, the website's traffic and influence have grown rapidly, earning honors such as "Most Influential Newspaper Website in 2006" and "One of China's Top Ten Innovative News Websites." According to third-party traffic monitoring, Huashang Network has become the largest local comprehensive portal in Northwest China, leading in the industry.

On June 18, 2007, Xi'an Huashang Network Media Co., Ltd. was established, followed by the establishment of subsidiaries in Changchun, Shenyang, Chongqing, Beijing, and other places. On January 18, 2008, Huashang Network Company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Swiss company Buxinda, jointly developing online classified information services.

On February 18, 2008, Huashang Network officially started using the new domain www.hsw.cn; citizen lifestyle portals under Huashang Network Media subsequently went online in various locations.
