"Spring Dream Master elaborates on the development path for new players in the game 'Hero City'"

I am the Guild Master of the "Blade Faction" in Zone 2: Spring Dream Without Trace. Members jokingly call me Master Spring Dream. Due to a large number of new players joining "City of Heroes," and with many friends in the guild suggesting I write some beginner development guides, here are my insights:

1. Quick Account Creation, Choosing a Race, Starting the Game!

Since GGwan's "City of Heroes" has an advantage in ranged attacks, especially at high speed, it's important to consider the levels of each race’s ranged units. Among them, the Barbarian race has the highest level for ranged units, Humans start the earliest, Elves are the most cost-effective, and Undead have the most level eight units gifted through daily mid-game tasks. Therefore, choosing a race that suits you is crucial.

2. Early Development - Beginner Tasks and Resource Collection

At the start of the game, follow the requirements of the beginner tasks; otherwise, you won't have the resources to upgrade your buildings, especially those related to gifting troops. Make sure to complete each task step-by-step. After completing the troop allocation tasks, you should have at least 25 level one soldiers plus four ranged soldiers (five for Undead). At this point, you can go out and occupy resource mines. It's recommended to control one of each type of resource mine early on as it will greatly help with future development! (PS: Action Points are necessary for heroes going out to fight wild monsters or other players. They recover hourly and can also be recovered through tasks.)

3. Accumulating Resources

From the main page, clicking 'leave city' takes you to the wilderness where there are many resources on the map. These resources aren't free; you need to defeat the guarding wild monsters first. Once your army reaches 20K+, you can gather large amounts of resources. The quantities include approximately 40 large sulfur and crystal, 80 wood and iron ore, and around 400 gold. Most action points before protection ends will be used for this. Additionally, defeating wild monsters on the map also adds resources, granting a certain amount of gold and a small random resource. There are also wild structures on the map which increase corresponding resources when visited. However, challenging these wild structures requires accumulating some troops for safety.

4. The Key to the Game - Heroes!

The tavern refreshes heroes every hour, or you can use hero cards to refresh. A hero's qualifications significantly impact battles. Hero attributes are color-coded. In my opinion, speed is very important. Players aiming for perfection or those willing to spend real money can balance all three attributes. For city defense, having a hero with knowledge above 40+ is sufficient. (PS: A hero's level affects the number of troops they can lead. This can be improved by appointing them as city guards, constructing buildings for experience, or defeating wild and resource monsters for experience. Finding a good hero early on saves the hassle of dismissing higher-level heroes later. This is very important!)

5. Stable Castle Development

We need to upgrade the council hall first since it's a prerequisite for upgrading other buildings. The warehouse's level can be upgraded according to the resources required by the council hall. The tavern's level affects the quantity and quality of heroes that appear during each refresh. The hero tower's level is a prerequisite for upgrading the tavern. A level one embassy allows joining a guild, while level two enables creating a guild. The magic tower can research spells which enhance troop attacks, resource production, troop production, and shorten building times. Barracks produce troops and unlock more types as they level up along with necessary magic and building upgrades. The market allows trading resources with other players, increasing trade capacity as it levels up. The treasure market allows purchasing white equipment from the system, unlocking better white equipment as it levels up.

6. Declining Newbie Protection

When your reputation reaches 2200, you can confidently decline newbie protection! (PS: Generally, when the council hall reaches level five, reputation usually hovers around 2200.) Prepare to build arrow towers. Arrow towers can be built in the barracks, with only two types: upper and lower arrow towers. After construction, they can be upgraded. Arrow towers cannot be destroyed; even if hit in one battle, they remain for the next. Thus, building arrow towers for defense is very cost-effective. Arrow towers have ideal attack and speed. Once you've upgraded to level two arrow towers, setting up defensive troops before logging off ensures peace of mind.
