Developed by Rockstar North, the creators of Grand Theft Auto, "Manhunt" is an action-adventure game where players take on the role of James Earl Cash, a penitentiary inmate. The protagonist is injected with a drug during his execution, causing him to appear dead. He awakens in a desolate city called Carcer City. This city is also designed for wealthy managers who enjoy experiencing violent survival games. Besides abandoned buildings and surveillance cameras, only armed criminal gangs reside here. The managers watch the transmitted images from the cameras in the control room, enjoying the sight of people killing each other for survival, satisfying their twisted desire for bloodshed.
Trapped in such a chaotic environment, the protagonist's main goal is to escape from Carcer City. However, due to the relationship between the managers and the criminal organizations, players must silently sneak around like in "Metal Gear Solid 2" without alerting others. Additionally, enemies have a meter indicating their alertness level, helping players decide their next move. The game also provides over 20 weapons, ranging from primitive clubs, knives, plastic bags to powerful handguns, allowing players to eliminate enemies quietly before they notice. As the killings progress, the twisted managers will send stronger new killers to deal with the protagonist, so players must use the time when the managers are absent to conduct various assassinations to successfully escape from Carcer City.
