In "Magic Crisis", the protagonist Marvin, who grew up in Dream Town, must constantly endure the disapproving stares of outsiders. His parents - a father from the Steam Clan and a mother from the Dream Clan - broke the ancient taboo against members of the two groups marrying and having children. As a result, life becomes increasingly difficult for Marvin in Dream Town. With half Dream Clan and half Steam Clan blood, Marvin's magical powers cannot compare to those of pure-blooded Dream Clan members. Therefore, Uncle Raison focuses his teachings on Druidic and herbal healing spells.
