Players will assume the role of a general from the Three Kingdoms era, embarking on a quest to unify the world. Up to 21 characters such as Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Sun Quan, Kong Ming, and Zhao Yun are available for players to choose from, slashing through enemies on the battlefield. The game consists of five chapters and 17 levels. In a 2D side-scrolling format, each character uses different weapons, including swords, spears, maces, broadswords, double blades, etc., allowing players to freely select their favorite general to play as.
Two-player mode allows friends to play together, coordinating attacks for a different experience. Besides walking forward, players can also ride horses, attacking from horseback, which enhances the feeling of breaking through barriers and waging war.
In addition to basic attacks, grabbing, and throwing enemies, the game features ultimate anger moves and life-saving special moves. When the player is injured, anger accumulates, and when the anger gauge is full, an ultimate anger move can be unleashed to knock down all enemies at once. In critical moments, the life-saving special move can knock down surrounding enemies, but be cautious as it deducts some of the player's health, so it should not be abused unless in emergencies.
