Beijing Saatchi & Saatchi Christmas VCR - "The Hero"

On December 12, Beijing Saatchi & Saatchi held their annual Christmas party. This video was played at the party. It's rumored that when the video ended, all of the company's colleagues stood up and clapped for 5 minutes. Many colleagues shed tears while laughing...

This nearly 20-minute long video humorously portrays problems that exist in almost all advertising companies - the conflict and divergence between the creative department and the client department, and how to reconcile these conflicts.

The first spoofed scene mimics the iconic opening of one of Hollywood's five major film studios, MGM. The only difference is that the mighty lion's roar from the original version has been replaced by the enticing moans of Maria Ozawa.

The next parodied scene is from the famous movie "Terminator". A robot from the future suddenly appears amidst flashes of lightning and thunder, completely naked. Just as we are guessing how the story will develop, the camera language takes a sudden turn, telling us that this naked man is actually a Saatchi employee who was working overtime and had his clothes stolen...

There are many more movie-like segments in the entire video, such as "A Chinese Odyssey" and others. You can explore them yourself while watching the video.

When Fearless first watched this VCR, he was reminded of last year when he was still at Bitauto, where several colleagues also made a parody video. However, due to "face-saving", many plots couldn't be carried out according to the initial plans. During the filming process, we always avoided making people associate with unpleasant places. It seems that to create a classic, one must not be afraid of embarrassment.

This article comes from Adgate. Fearless is glad to see that some enterprises have changed their attitudes towards the internet fundamentally and behaviorally, especially in the key advertising-related industry. Compared to those foolish MINI Stat and so-called flasher sites, Adgate has taken a significant step forward on the internet.
