By Yezheng reporter He Yuhua, Lin Yuan, Intern Fu Yingyi - Marrying a handsome foreigner and having a mixed-blood baby with big eyes and curly hair is the dream of some Chinese girls. Lily (a pseudonym) didn't expect that her dream would turn into such a painful reality. Recently, Guangzhou girl Lily called the Evening News multiple times to recount her story. Last December, she married a Nigerian man named Ugo whom she had known for several years, but "after obtaining the marriage certificate for a Chinese visa-free stay, he turned his back on me." At this point, she discovered that she was pregnant with the child of her African boyfriend Eric, who disappeared after learning about her pregnancy.

"I want to find them and make them take responsibility. At the same time, I hope that Chinese girls like me wake up sooner," said Lily.

Just after getting married, he "turned his back"?

Lily, 27, comes from a good family and has been in the mobile phone accessories business for many years. She said, "Many black people come to China to buy mobile phone accessories to sell back in Africa, so I inevitably deal with them every day. I've heard bad rumors about them before, but since I see them daily, I got used to it and regarded my business partners as friends."

Among these clients, there was one from Nigeria named Ugo. Since 2007, Lily and Ugo have been doing business together, evolving from partners to close friends. "Last September, he said he wanted to take me to Africa for a trip, and I thought it was a great idea," she said. After arriving at a small city in Nigeria, Ugo proposed to her with a "high-quality imitation diamond ring" and, in a moment of confusion, she accepted.

"We obtained two 'marriage papers' locally, and he insisted that both documents be kept by him. Then he asked me to write an application letter to the local embassy. With the application letter and the marriage papers, he said he could get a one-year free residence permit," Lily explained. "Ugo said that after getting married, he would open a company in Guangzhou, start a husband-wife partnership business, buy a house, live with me, and drive me to and from work... However, after I finished writing the application letter, he never saw me again."

After returning to China, Lily reflected on the entire whirlwind marriage process. "I felt deceived. After I returned, we were in contact, and I asked him to dissolve the marriage agreement. He agreed over the phone, but he never showed up," Lily said anxiously.

As soon as she got pregnant, he "disappeared"?

Lily repeatedly emphasized to the reporter that her marriage to Ugo was indeed a "moment of confusion," and they never had sexual relations. What troubled her more was that she was already two months pregnant with a child belonging to Eric, a Nigerian man.

"Lily and Eric truly loved each other, and they had been dating for more than half a year," Lily described wistfully, "He is 1.93 meters tall and very handsome; you'd fall in love with him just by looking at him. But he is very flirtatious and a heartless person."

About a year ago, Lily met Eric through a friend and fell in love. "I found out that he had many girlfriends, mostly met online. There were wealthy women from Shanghai and young girls under 20 from Foshan who even paid his rent," she said, "In Nigeria, agreeing to marry Ugo was also partly due to a momentary impulse."

In December 2011, after her whirlwind marriage and return to China, Lily discovered that she was pregnant and confessed everything to the child's father, Eric. However, she didn't expect Eric to also go missing. Lily's voice was tinged with tears, "Eric's friends said they knew where he was, but to find out his new phone number and address, I needed to pay 3000 yuan first. I can't tell if what they say is true or false."

The reporter dialed the phone number Lily provided for Eric, only to find that the number had expired. When calling Eric's roommate (provided by Lily), the roommate said he had seen Eric recently. He speculated that Eric avoided Lily because she "constantly complained about him." According to the roommate, Eric and Lily had only been together for two months, not "half a year." Additionally, the reporter was unable to contact Ugo in Africa.

Lily has reported the incident to the Huangqi police station in the area where Eric originally lived.
